DESCRIPTION
The Toronto Cider Festival is an award-winning festival and is the largest of its kind in Canada. Each year the festival brings together 5,000 attendees over 2.5 days to Toronto to sample and celebrate all things cider! The event includes themed sessions, interactive installations, live music, games and lounging areas, contests, and of course the ever-popular cider alley featuring a range of different kinds of cider from cideries across Canada.
TAMI'S CONTRIBUTION
Tami and her Volunteer Management Team were responsible for recruiting, scheduling, and training up to 150 volunteers for the annual cider festival. Through this experience, she designed an environment where volunteers can gain hands-on real-world experience in events to help them in their careers and to get the most out of their volunteer experience.
JUST NETWORKING EVENT 2019
The John 3 Bar
DESCRIPTION
The MPI Just Networking Events are a chance where members can come together to simply Network with their peers and have a good time. This event occurs monthly and this time around we checked-out The John 3 Bar. The music was bumping and conversations flowing with free cocktail samples for all.
TAMI'S CONTRIBUTION
As part of the Just Networking Task Force, Tami was responsible for all the Communications leading-up to the event and post-event. She created engaging chapter communications to gather attendance from as many members as possible and entice them to attend.
TORONTO EDUCATION CONFERENCE 2017
JW Marriott The Rosseau Muskoka Resort & Spa
DESCRIPTION
The Toronto Education Conference (TEC) was the Annual Education Summit for the Meetings Professionals International Toronto Chapter. This event brought in 300+ event planners and suppliers to beautiful Muskoka to learn, network, and celebrate together as an industry.
TAMI'S CONTRIBUTION
In her role as Chair of TEC, Tami was responsible for planning along-side a team of eight other Events Professionals to execute the conference. The theme of the event was Learning with a View which was all about getting away from the hustle and bustle of the city, kicking-back in beautiful Muskoka, and learning in a peaceful relaxing environment. She and her team created a rewarding and educational program for Events Professionals, booked outstanding keynote and session speakers, and created a space for people to let go and have fun and learn while receiving educational credits. The event included elements such as an evening Muskoka themed dinner with real wildlife and local music, an interactive event App, a games night to raise funds for the MPI Foundation, and a variety of networking and educational sessions for all.
MPI TORONTO HOLIDAY GALA 2015

DESCRIPTION
Every year the MPI Toronto Chapter gets together for it’s largest end of year celebration and charity fundraiser, the Annual Holiday Gala. Each year brings together 350+ Meeting Professionals to celebrate the year and give back to their community by supporting the Breakfast With Santa Foundation. Each year there is a theme and this year it was “Holiday Market, Sights & Sounds” with a local artisan marketplace and market themed entertainment and food.
TAMI'S CONTRIBUTION
As Chair of the Holiday Gala, Tami was responsible for successfully leading a team of 8-10 event professionals to success. She and her team brought together this amazing event and created a unique and joyful experience for all. The event theme was the “Holiday Market, Sights & Sounds”. This event encompassed a large snow-globe that would fill as donations were received, themed food like rolled snow stations and eggnog, holiday entertainment like carolers, and ice skaters. The event was very well received and rated as one of the best Holiday Galas for the chapter yet.
